Cleanup - From Backyard to Bay
Even though Trash Bash is not hosting cleanups at our normal locations, you can still help keep trash out of our waterways by cleaning up your local neighborhood, park, or storm drain. Your backyard is part of the Galveston Bay watershed, and you are more connected than you think. You and your family or a small group can hold your own personal "Backyard to Bay" cleanup during Trash Bash and help remove litter from the watershed.

Safety Information
Please read our General Safety information and watch our updated #BackyardToBay safety video before you "Clean It Like You Mean It": Safety Video (Vimeo). Thanks to our sponsor LyondellBasell for creating this updated video for our personal cleanups this year!

*** A Note on Tires - the safety video suggests not picking up tires. In addition to safety, tires can be difficult to dispose of outside of a collection event. The TCEQ recommends reporting abandoned tires to your local city or county authorities.

Share Your Participation and Your Photos
Download the digital Trash Bash 2021 badge and share it on Facebook. Share photos of your cleanup and interesting items you find using #TrashBash2021 and #BackyardToBay.
Report Your Impact
Use our Trash Bash 2021 Data Reporting Form to make sure all of our #BackyardToBay cleanups are counted so we can show the total impact of everyone's efforts. Without our normal gathering locations to help gather all of the trash picked up, we need each group to report on their personal "Backyard to Bay" cleanup so we can determine how much trash was removed over the weekend. A volunteer service certificate will be emailed to you after you submit the form if you service hours for your organization, and everyone who submits their form by 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 28, will be entered into a prize drawing.
